All three are certified hearing aids for mild to moderate hearing loss. Each has the same 90-day home trial, 2-year warranty and free delivery Australia-wide. Only the Max streams calls and music into your ears.

You jam it against your ear, then switch to speaker and turn it right up. You still miss the name, the time, the number. Then you hang up and guess at what was said.
Face to face you can read lips and fill the gaps. On the phone there is nothing to read. So calls go to voicemail, and your partner rings the medical centre for you. Video calls with the kids interstate turn into smiling and nodding.
Certus Max puts the phone right inside both ears. Your phone sends the caller’s voice straight to your hearing aids over Bluetooth. No speakerphone, and no phone pressed to your head.

The whole house hears your call, and the words still run together.
They say “Bluetooth” on the box but only pair to an app, or whistle the moment you hold a phone near them. Then try getting your money back.
If your ear canals are small, in-ear aids pinch, work loose and fall out. Most end up in the bedside drawer.
Certus Max pairs with your phone like earbuds. Calls, music and videos go straight into both hearing aids. And it sits behind the ear, so it fits ears that in-ear aids don’t.
A digital hearing aid with Bluetooth built in. Its chip splits sound into 32 bands, so it can lift voices and keep the clatter down. One pair does two jobs: clearer conversation in the room, and calls and music from your phone.

Microphones behind each ear pick up the voices around you. The 32-channel chip lifts speech and turns background noise down.
Pair Certus Max with your phone over Bluetooth once. After that it connects by itself when you lift the aids out of the case.
Phone calls, video calls, music, podcasts and audiobooks play straight into both hearing aids, through the soft dome in each ear.
A certified hearing aid for mild-to-moderate hearing loss, with Bluetooth calls and music built in. A real hearing aid, not an amplifier.
The calls you used to let ring out become the calls you look forward to again.
The voice plays inside both ears at once, so you catch every word without speakerphone or pressing the phone to your ear.
Video calls with the kids and grandkids interstate come through clearly, so you join in instead of nodding along.
Your playlist, the footy on a radio app, or a podcast on your walk, in the car or while you cook. About 6 hours of music on a charge.
When the phone is down, Certus Max works as a hearing aid all day: up to 15 hours of clearer conversation.

Here is what it feels like, with 90 days at home to be sure.
Pick a dome size, pair with your phone, run the five-minute hearing check, and ring someone. Their voice is in both ears.
The medical centre rings back, your daughter calls from interstate, the grandkids FaceTime, and you hear all of it. You stop asking someone else to make the call.
The thin wire and the small body behind the ear stop feeling new. Most days you forget they are there.
A podcast on the walk, the radio while you cook, a song in both ears. And clearer talk with the people around you.

Pairs with your phone like earbuds. Phone calls, video calls, music, podcasts and audiobooks play straight into both hearing aids.
See the left and right volume, the mode and the battery on the case. Change the volume and mode right there, no phone needed.
The body sits behind the ear and only a soft dome goes in the ear. Five dome sizes in the box, so it fits ears that in-ear aids don’t.
Up to 15 hours of hearing, or about 5 hours of calls or 6 hours of music. The case refills the aids 4 to 5 times.
An audiologist who fits hearing aids at a clinic looked at Certus Max for people who struggle on the phone.
“Most people cope face to face long after phone calls have become hard work. There is no face to read on a call, so the phone is where it shows first. I see it in people who work on the phone all day, and in people whose kids live interstate. Hearing the caller in both ears, instead of one phone pressed to one ear, is the change they notice fastest. And because it sits behind the ear with a soft dome, it suits many ears that in-ear aids never fitted comfortably.”

Fair question. It is not invisible, and nobody should tell you it is. Here is what it really looks like.
The body behind the ear is about 3 cm long, the size of a paperclip, and weighs 4 grams. A thin clear wire runs to a soft dome in the ear.
It tucks behind the ear, under your hair or beside the arm of your glasses or sunnies. Most people only notice if you tell them.
Not the bulky beige kind. No thick tube and no moulded earpiece, just a small silver-white body and a hair-thin clear wire to a soft dome.
Wear Certus Max at home for 90 days: three months of calls, meals out and music. If it is not right for you, send it back for a full refund.
Same goal: hear every call and every word. Three very different bills, all for the pair.
What clinics quote for a pair that streams calls, after the free hearing test. Costco is about $1,900 a pair, plus a membership and a trip to the warehouse. The right choice for severe or complex hearing loss.
Free basic aids for Pensioner Concession Card and DVA card holders and under-26s. Basic often means aids that won’t stream your calls. Not a pensioner? You pay the full clinic price, and Medicare doesn’t cover hearing aids.

Certus Max in real life
My husband bought these for me after about three years of me saying I was fine. I wasn't fine. The first thing that happened was the hearing check on the phone, which he did with me sat in the sunroom with my eyes shut, and it told us my right ear is a good deal worse than my left, which neither of us knew. It set them separately. The second thing was our daughter rang from Dublin and I talked to her for forty minutes without once asking her to say it again. He has not said I told you so, which is good of him.
I'm a chef and kitchens have finished the hearing of everybody I have ever worked with. Extraction, pans, a radio, and somebody shouting service. I am fifty one and I'd got to where I couldn't hear the waiting staff calling an order from six feet away, which in a kitchen is dangerous as well as embarrassing. These go under the hat, they do not mind the heat, and I haven't missed a call since July. I clean them every night with the brush because of the grease.
Thirty one years on the bins and nobody handed out ear protection until about 1998. The truck ran all day behind you and that was that. I had got to the point where I wouldn't answer the house phone, I had let it ring and look at it. These put the call into both ears at once and it's a completely different thing to holding a handset against one bad ear. My sister rang on the Tuesday and we were on for half an hour about nothing in particular. That is the bit I had lost and didn't realise I had lost.
Pleased overall and knocking one off for the case size. It's a lovely thing and the screen is genuinely useful, but it's bigger than I pictured from the photographs, about the size of a deck of cards and a bit thicker. It doesn't go in a jeans pocket without making a lump. It lives in my coat and that's fine, but if you were planning on carrying it in a trouser pocket all day, have a look at the dimensions before you order.
I lost most of the top end in the army and have been pretending otherwise since 1991. My wife has done my phone calls for about ten years. She would take the handset, have the conversation, and then tell me what was said, and she was sick of it and I don't blame her. Since July she has not had to do it once. That is the whole review. The rest of it, the music and the modes and the little screen, is all very good, but that's the bit that changed the house.
Our father in law is ninety one and has got a bit of dementia. The memory clinic said get his hearing sorted because half of what looks like confusion isn't hearing the question. He could never manage the little in ear ones. These he can do, because the body goes behind the ear and he can feel it, and the wire finds its own way. We did his check in his chair at the home. He is brighter. I can't tell you how much is the hearing and how much is being able to join in, but he is brighter.
No appointment, no hearing-test booking and no computer. A plain-English guide is in the box.
Charge the aids in the case with the USB-C cable from any power point. The screen on the case shows the battery.
Pick the dome size that feels snug and comfortable, and pair Certus Max with your phone’s Bluetooth, like earbuds.
Run the five-minute hearing check in the free app, one ear at a time. Then take your first call.

No subscriptions and no clinic visits. Charge them, pair once, and take your first call the same day.
For people who want calls and music in their ears, or who can’t get in-ear aids to fit.
Order today and wear them at home for three full months: on the phone, on video calls, round the table, with a podcast on your walk. If they’re not right for you, return them within 90 days for a full refund. No restocking fee, no hassle.
Yes. It pairs with your phone over Bluetooth, like earbuds. When a call comes in, you hear the caller in both ears. No speakerphone, and no phone pressed to your ear.
It pairs with iPhone and Android phones over Bluetooth, the same way earbuds do. Older phones work too, as long as they have Bluetooth. If you get a new phone, just pair it again. It takes a minute. If it will not pair, email us and a person will talk you through it. If it still won’t, send it back for a full refund.
Fair question. You pay through a secure checkout by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Your order is dispatched with free tracked delivery to your door anywhere in Australia, and the tracking link comes by email. A real person answers email 7 days a week. You have 90 days to try them at home and send them back for a full refund. There is also a 2-year warranty. And 2,309 verified buyers have left their reviews on this page, critical ones included.
Only if the dome does not sit snugly. That is why five dome sizes come in the box. If you hear a whistle, try one size up. During a call the voice goes from the phone straight into your ears, so holding the phone near your ear will not make them squeal.
Anything you watch on your phone or tablet plays in your ears: video calls, the footy highlights, YouTube, catch-up TV apps. Certus Max does not connect to the TV on its own. In the room, it works as a hearing aid and makes the TV clearer like any other voice.
Up to 15 hours a day of hearing. Streaming uses more power: about 5 hours of calls or about 6 hours of music. The case refills the aids 4 to 5 times, so a long day out is covered.
That is exactly who Certus Max is for. The aid sits behind the ear and only a soft dome goes in the ear, with five dome sizes in the box. If in-ear aids hurt or fell out, start with a smaller dome.
It is not invisible. It is small and barely noticeable: a 4-gram silver-white body behind the ear and a thin clear wire, usually hidden by your hair or glasses. If you want a pair that sits fully inside the ear, look at Certus One or Certus Pro.
Yes. Pair it once to their phone and run the hearing check with them: about ten minutes. After that it connects by itself whenever they lift the aids out of the case, and they can change the volume on the case screen without touching the phone.
AirPods hearing aid mode needs an iPhone, lasts about 5 to 6 hours, and looks like you are listening to music. Certus Max works with iPhone or Android and gives up to 15 hours a day of hearing. Its case screen shows the left and right volume.
No. You can change the volume and mode on the touchscreen case, and on the aids. The free app adds the five-minute hearing check and the volume for each ear. Pairing for calls is done in your phone’s Bluetooth settings.
A real hearing aid. Certus Max is a certified hearing aid for mild-to-moderate hearing loss. Cheap ‘Bluetooth amplifiers’ turn every sound up at once. Certus Max lifts voices, turns background noise down, and streams calls and music into both ears.
No. Certus Max is for mild-to-moderate hearing loss and everyday situations: conversation, calls, music. For severe or profound loss, hearing aids fitted by an audiologist are the right choice.
Because you are not paying for a clinic. Clinics quote $5,000 to $12,000 for a pair that streams calls. Much of that pays for the shopfront, the appointments and the fitting fees. Even Costco is about $1,900 a pair, plus a membership and a trip to the warehouse. Certus Max comes straight to your door, with 90 days at home to be sure it does the job.
The government hearing scheme gives free basic aids to Pensioner Concession Card and DVA card holders and under-26s. Medicare doesn’t cover hearing aids. Some health fund extras pay something back on hearing aids. Each fund is different, so keep your receipt and ask yours.
Every order goes out with free tracked delivery, insured, to your door anywhere in Australia: cities, regional towns and the bush. Your tracking link arrives by email as soon as it leaves us.
Email us. A real person replies within 24 hours. If it develops a fault in the first two years, it is repaired or replaced free under your 2-year warranty.
Send them back within 90 days for a full refund, with no restocking fee. Faults are covered by the 2-year warranty.
Wear them through real days: the calls you used to dread, the family on video, a podcast on your walk. If it is not right for you, send it back. Returns are simple.
